Saccharomyces ferment and Cryptomeria Japonica Leaf Extract have anti-microbial properties and act as a 5a reductase inhibitor. The enzyme 5 alpha reductase converts testosterone to DHT. It then binds itself to androgen receptors in the oil glands, inhibiting excessive oil production.
